October 25, 2004
Mike Prince, CIO Provides His Experience in Making the Data Center a Contribution Center to Business Profitability
SOUTHBOROUGH, MASS. October 25, 2004 - This week, at the Storage Networking World conference in Orlando, Florida, Cloverleaf Communications' Intelligent Storage Networking (iSN) system will be highlighted in a case study presented by Mike Prince, CIO at Burlington Coat Factory (BCF) Warehouse Corporation. Cloverleaf's iSN provides an Enterprise level intelligent storage network solution that harnesses the value and performance of existing data center storage networking infrastructures while simplifying overall deployment and management.
BCF has been a leading pioneer in deploying continually improved storage networking infrastructures to insure full visibility into business data by all company business units. The data center is a significant business contributor in the very competitive retail industry - while growing the corporate information pool, the IT department has continually reduced the costs of creating, storing and securing data.
Now in their third generation of storage networking deployment, Prince will detail how he and his 200+ IS department have worked with new technology implementations to insure that the business outcomes from the storage networking infrastructure far exceed the operational expenses incurred. Incorporated into the presentation will be his vision, and current capabilities for buying storage on demand and integration of new storage capacity without disruption to the operations. He will also share his strategy and experience for simplifying network management and reducing the high cost of business continuance programs, including infrastructure utilization improvement and non-disruptive deployment of new systems and technologies.
"BCF has always been a technology innovator with a strong vision and strategy for implementing their storage networking infrastructure intelligently and effectively," said Yosi Klein, co-founder and COO of Cloverleaf. "Implementing the Cloverleaf iSN has been no exception. Cloverleaf's iSN will be instrumental in BCF's breakthrough techniques to lower the cost, reduce the database development cycle, and better integrate database development, QA, and storage resources organization with the storage networking infrastructure. Conference attendees should attend this presentation to learn from a true storage networking pioneer, whose achievements have become a significant contributing factor to his company's financial success."
"We have always been aggressive in adopting technology improvements as they occur, gaining competitive advantage by reducing costs while improving the effectiveness of our Information Systems," said Prince. "Our work with Cloverleaf will pay off handsomely and will contribute significantly in making our data center a true contribution center to the company's profitability. Our work with Cloverleaf is an excellent example of how an intelligent storage networking infrastructure can effectively impact database development and deployment efficiency. Ultimately, comprehensive implementation of the Cloverleaf iSN will enable BCF to be technology and vendor agnostic and implement a true multi-tiered storage paradigm."
Prince's case study presentation will be held Wednesday, October 27, 2004 from 10:30-11:00 a.m. at the Storage Networking World conference in Orlando, Florida.
